STRANGE BUT TRUE…

SKREAM – MIDNIGHT REQUEST LINE (that's at least three years old i hear you say…).

Well, yes, you would be correct! But there is something totally different about this release. SKREAM has been lauded by many, and finally, the track which put him on the map, has made it into the world of the remix. The most unlikely of things about this are the artists that have actually made them. The first is by HOT CHIP and the second by SWITCH! yes, HOT CHIP AND SWITCH?!? Something nice to listen to here… Bristol's finest, in the shape of APPLEBLIM+ PEVERELIST, have continued to flirt with the Techno scene and have handed over a couple of tracks to one of the heavyweights, Brendon Moeller. Nice Remix

I have to admit I am a big fan of this guys work. Blackdown, who some of you may know as a DJ (Rinse FM), others a music journalist (blackdownsoundboy.blogspot.com and Pitchfork), and released his first album with Dusk a couple of months back, Margins Music, has done it again. He is on the remix of the the Geeneus track ft. riko, wiley and breeze "knife & gun", adding his own sound to an already BIG grime track.

This intricate and fascinating typographical poster by ± (pronounced 'plusminus') is a visually stunning representation of the 85+ recorded covers of Joy Division's 'Love Will Tear Us Apart Again' mapped in relation to the original recordings by the band.

±, otherwise known as Peter Crnokrak, is an internationally renowned graphic artist who has worked as a Senior Designer at The Apartment in New York and produced remarkable work for clients as diverse as MTV and and Cinéma du Parc in Montréal.

THE RETURN OF THE AF1 PREMIUM

I must admit, i have lost interest in 'sneaker culture' over the last couple of years, and the AF1 in particular. But, the AF1 has been the shoe which has caught my eye the most in 2008 and here are two more examples of why i think it is making yet another comeback. Air Force 1, the shoe that will not lay down and die.
